Flat Tire?

Letter from the Editor:

Dear Fans,

I had one of those days yesterday. Problem is it's flowing over into today and likely tomorrow! I had to leave my wife home alone for the first time without a sitter. I asked her to just rest or sleep all day I'd be home early. I also figured she'd call or text me during the day.

By noon I was more than worried. I had texted, I called and no answer. Usually she calls me at least twice or texts me. I finally left work early but after 1:00. When I got home around 2:00 she had just gotten up and was looking for her phone! She survived her first day home alone.

I wanted to take her to dinner so we went downtown to Second Street Station. It's our little local restaurant. It's her choice, not mine but it was her turn to pick. She wanted to try their fish dinner. I opted for a pizza. During our dinner a stranger informed me I had not one but two flat tires!

She had wanted to go shopping so that ruined her night. There we were stranded in town with two flats. I was in walking distance of two garages. I called a friend to borrow his floor jack rod. I had the jack but no handle to operate it. I changed the one flat with a donut tire and proceeded to go to the nearest garage and purchase a new tire. They were closed. I then walked to the other garage and they were closed. So I did what any sane country boy knows what  not to do. I drove home on the pancake flat. Yes. I know I likely ruined the rim. Don't forget handicapped spouse in front seat needing a bathroom. Why would a restaurant have restrooms out of order?

We made it home but here it is Sunday, nothing open, still one flat and no heat! My life is a country song. I feel a new one coming on!

If only I had a tire inflator. I used to have one but it broke. I went online and found one on Amazon. It's definitely on my wish list

Sincerely,
Ray Allen
