Scripture of the Day:

               Mathew 5:3.

“Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the Kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.

Cross-refrences:

Luke 6:20-"And he looked up at his disciples and began to say: “Happy are you who are poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God."

Getting the Point:

What was the difference between Christ's disciples and the rest of the world? It was not that they were poor. However their lot in life made them aware that there had to be something better. They saw the need to listen to and follow Christ. They had a spiritual need.

There were supposedly many religious leaders in Jesus day. They were able to read the scriptures and they should have been awaiting for the Messiah and yet when he came he came in such a way that they were not impressed.

They were satisfied with what they already had.  They had the law and all their rituals. Most likely they were dressed in the best and were not poor and struggling.

We should still be searching the scriptures for hidden treasures and seeking for knowledge, understanding, and discernment. The knowledge of God is worth more than gold and that is what will  bring true happiness.

Are you satisfied? Are you content? Jesus said it would be a struggle to get inside the narrow door.
