Welcome to my Blog! 

I am a singer/songwriter. I love Country music. I am starting my new career late in life at 50! I actually just recently decided to make the next 50 years count. I've been cooking in restaurants most of my life but recently found myself having to take care of my spouse and unable to work. I don't have many fans or followers but I also have no social media presence either.

I am hoping to journal my new adventures. I live in a rural community and that means not even a red light. It's hard to reach the masses from Mullens West Virginia. However, Bill Withers grew up not far from here in Slabfork, and he was successful. 

Hobbies 
I love cutting grass, and working out as well as writing newsletters regarding my O'Neal Genealogy. I'm in the process of writing a book about "The O'Neals of West Virginia". I have a blog and I do freelance writing when I can get it.

Experience 
I have worked in all types of industry from banking, hospitals hospitality, farming, as well as Restaurants. I've been everything from a Janitor to a General Manager. I used to dream of performing on the grand Ole Opry, now I dream about putting a new roof on the house and a new floor in the laundry room. 


I'm hopeful my new song will help make my dreams come true! I'm a member of the Nashville Song  Association International  (N.S A.I.) and recently submitted my latest song in their song contest.

I'm going to try and post an article about me and my love of country music and one song that touched my life at any given point in time and why.

Carl Dean "Dolly Parton's husband "

I'm kinda new to the Country Music scene. I have written a few songs and I'm trying to get them demo ready. I'm hoping to promote  them to some big city Nashville executives" soon but honestly I could care less who buys them or records them as long as I get paid. That being said I'd love to get one of my songs in the public eye. Dolly Parton had a song she wrote go above and beyond her expectations entitled "Jolene". She says she wrote that song because of her husband. I guess maybe at the time she was jealous of this Jolene. I don't know. I hope one of my songs ends up doing that well too. I saw last night where Carl Dean passed away. My wife and I will have been married 35 years come November 3rd of this year. Carl and Dolly had been married for nearly 60 years.
