My first Job
The first job I ever had was working for Vera Swadley a retired teacher as her dishwasher in South Bethany Beach, Delaware at the age of 13. She paid me under the table for four months until I turned 14. I ended up working throughout the summer and then nights and weekends all through highschool. I started out as the dishwasher but soon progressed to Prep Cook, Cook, and Head Chef and Night Shift Supervisor by the time I was seventeen.
Tower Shores doesn't exist anymore it went from that to the Seaside Grill and now I think it's called Matt's Fish Camp or something. I don't think they have a website but they are listed in Google.
I remember at one point me, my sister, step sister, step brother, two second cousins and my girlfriend (later became my wife) and my then great aunt all worked there. It was more like our family restaurant.
If you wonder what my life was like from the ages of 13 to 17 then imagine living in a beach town serving city folks seafood.
I remember once someone asked to speak with the Chef. I was 16 at the time. He said I've had millions of saute`d scallops in my time but I have to say yours have been the best I can ever remember. You can't put that on a resume`.
When I wasn't in school or working I was in my room learning to play the guitar. I cook better than I play. I only learned to play so I could sing.

This is proof it existed
Now it's called Matt's Fish Camp!
My wife and I went back on our 30th year anniversary and I got a picture of her it's below!
It looked about the same but the inside is just modernized. My wife loves the beach and she loved the way it was decorated.
