Doubting Thomas

Scriptural thought of the Day:

Deuteronomy 32:7
" Remember the days of old; consider the years of past generations. Ask your father he can tell you;Your elders, and they will inform you."

At first Glance:

Reading the bible is personal. After reading the above text what  jumps out at you? I noticed the three things we should do. Research  or look at the past, Ask for help from your parents or guardians, Ask other older ones who have wisdom gained through experience.

My question was ;"What's the context?" So I read the entire Chapter to see the surrounding verses to get a better understanding of who why and when was this research being done. What I learned was these were the instructions God was giving the nation of Israel through Moses. They had caused him much pain and displeasure. They had forgotten their God. He was reminding them who he was and what he was capable of. However, he wanted them to come to that conclusion not from what other people had to say but from the proof these other people were witnesses of his action!

Cross-references:
Exodus 13:14
Psalms 44:1

What I got from it:
You may not have read my Blog recently entitled  The Powe of Prayer, but on a bad day I typed if anyone is even listening while talking about prayer.

It occurred to me I am much like those Isrealites. I have forgotten my God! I forgot who he is what he's capable of and I have started to be like doubting Thomas.

Today's text was a reminder how Jehovah God felt when they abandoned him. He dise not change! I found it comforting to know that even in his anger he still guided them into the land he was giving them. He is merciful  and he continually gives us reminders how we can search for him, find him, and regain our footing with his help.

Also, in my personal difficulties it made me contemplate that you can't do everything on your own. I need to ask for some help from some wiser older ones in the know. So, I prayed again this time with more faith and confidence in the hearer of prayer!
