Dear Reader,

Today is February 20, 2023 and I have been falling down on the job of bringing you the most up to date information on what's happening with the West Virginia  O'Neal clans so I did a little research  this morning and found the sad news of another passing.

Lydia Mildred Lane O'Neal passed away on January 12, 2023. I have posted her obituary  in this edition. I'd like to express and extend my deepest sympathy to her family.

OBITUARIES:

Lydia Mildred Lane O'Neal, age 91 of Bluefield, West Virginia, formerly of Welch, West Virginia, passed away on January 12, 2023, at Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Rock, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Alexander Lane and Ealer Warren Lane.
Lydia was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. She enjoyed reading the bible, and singing older traditional hymns.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William O'Neal; three sons, Melvin Blackburn, David O'Neal, and Mark O'Neal; two daughters, Vallery Blackburn and Carolyn Blackburn Willard.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Regina Mullins and husband, Eugene and Sherri O'Neal; one son, John O'Neal; one sister, Emma Margaret Livingston; one daughter in law, Deborah O'Neal; grandchildren, Arnold Willard and wife Teresa, Steven Willard, Alexander O'Neal, Jessica Donahoo and husband, Jordan Sanchez, David O'Neal II, Kristen Folk-O'Neal and Jeremy Fitch; three great grandchildren, Emma O'Neal, Emma Willard, and Jax Willard.
Services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Princeton, West Virginia with Pastor Harold Newsome officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm until the service hour at 1pm. Interment will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia.
Roselawn Funeral Home is serving the O'Neal family.

Carl Dean "Dolly Parton's husband "

I'm kinda new to the Country Music scene. I have written a few songs and I'm trying to get them demo ready. I'm hoping to promote  them to some big city Nashville executives" soon but honestly I could care less who buys them or records them as long as I get paid. That being said I'd love to get one of my songs in the public eye. Dolly Parton had a song she wrote go above and beyond her expectations entitled "Jolene". She says she wrote that song because of her husband. I guess maybe at the time she was jealous of this Jolene. I don't know. I hope one of my songs ends up doing that well too.
