Agenda:

Researching Emma Massey's marriage to Alfred M. O'Neal in Kanawha County 1885.

Bible Verse of the Day:

                  Judges 4:6, 7

"She sent for Baʹrak the son of A·binʹo·am out of Keʹdesh-naphʹta·li and said to him: “Has not Jehovah the God of Israel given the command? ‘Go and march to Mount Taʹbor, and take 10,000 men of Naphʹta·li and Zebʹu·lun with you. I will bring to you Sisʹe·ra, the chief of Jaʹbin’s army, along with his war chariots and his troops to the stream of Kiʹshon, and I will give him into your hand.’”

Getting the Point:

Some people may get something different from reading in today's text but I find it comforting to see how Jehovah God highly esteems women in today's Chapter.

Deborah was a Prophetess and  Ja'el the wife of He'ber was the one who actually defeated Sis'e•ra. Most people feel that the Bible is a man's book written by men but if they were to meditate on verses like the ones found in today's lesson they would clearly see that the Bible is the word of God. The army was defeated by the hand of God bring the rain. Had men written the Bible from their own hand however without his intervention then we never would have even known about Deborah or Ja'el. He highly esteems women and we can see in this instance how they were used by God to accomplish his purpose.

Letterhead From the Editor:

Dear Reader,

Today is Monday July 29, 2019. In today's edition I'd like to let you know what I've been doing. A few weeks ago I ran across a new line of O'Neals which as had me rather busy going back and creating newsletter keepsakes to highlight births, marriages and deaths. It has been quite an ordeal doing all the research and trying to figure out where everyone should be placed in my research.

I realize however that I haven't been able to post my current editions. I hope you understand. I got to thinking that maybe my readers would like to read some archived editions. I might have some available just ask to have one emailed to you.

As for who I am researching today still happens to be Emma Massey O'Neal. She was born in 1865 in Kanawha County, West Virginia. She married Alfred M. O'Neal around 1885. I have been working on creating keepsake newsletters highlighting their major life events.

As always if you had a life event of an O'Neal in your family occur on this date sometime in the past and want to have that announced in this edition just email me and I can update this edition with that information.

Sincerely,
Ray A. O'Neal
